While removing the cam chain sprocket out of a 1980 kz 1300 one of the rubber dampners fell ito the engine. Am I toast or is ther a way of getting it out? Do I need to pull apart the cankcase or the oil pan? Any help would be gratefull.
Thanks,
kzjohn

Hi John,

I can't imagine any way to fish the rubber out. I'm sure you've used an light and a mirror to see if it stopped partway down. Short of suspending the bike upside down and shaking it, I'd pull the oil pan.

Sorry

Hi John,

Sorry to hear that you haven't a good experience with your 13. Where are you? Perhaps you'd like to part with her?

Hi Bill,
The bike right now is torn apart. It had 0 compression on #5 cylinder and was blowing out white smoke. Thuoght it might be the head gaskit but it look fine and had the valves check out and they where ok.So I guess it must be the rings. Any way I live in Waleska Ga and yes I am thinking seriously about departing with her. It has 18294 miles on it.
