Hi all.

Picked this bike up this morning.

P.O. said it's been in the barn since 1987.

I am looking forward to learning all I can from you all. Thanks for the forum.

Welcome to KZ1300.com!

I suggest that you read the FAQ file that can be accessed at the upper left of every page here before you even start it up. A bike that's been sitting for twenty-six years will need some careful attention.

I imagine that a 1980 bike that was put up after only seven years can't have too many miles on it.

What does the inside of the tank look like?

Once again Welcome to the forum.

Thx Bill

Shows 57K on the odometer. Plate on the back was current in 1995.

Haven't popped the tank open yet. Still holding fluid in it. I have the lock seeped in MM oil and want to get a copy of the key made before trying to open it.

I've been reading the FAQ and trying to open the manuals, but the PDF file show errors. (Tried opening with two different browsers, same error...)

Been reading the posts as well.

The faring cavities are mouse nests. Working on removing these and the associated wiring (looks like this was wired up with speaker wire by a high school freshman.)

I'm going to concentrate on getting it running then spend the winter season building a proper harness to tie into the original system.

I have added a file size to the end of the filename. Give one of the smaller files a try and see if you can get it to download. The larger files may be reaching a time-out leaving you with at corrupt download.
If you continue to have issues please let me know. I will work up another way to get you the files.

Mike

Mike, Thanks. I was able to get the Excel file previously.

File size hasn't been an issue previously. but I will try again as well.

Opened Service Manual in Browser window to pg 115. Saved from there. Couldn't open saved copy.
