I have a confession to make in that it wasn't me :blush: :P The guy who took that pic says that since having the rear wheel of his 1300 widened, because modern tyres have a lower profile it's lowered the overall gearing. He says that on stock gearing it used to pull an indicated 150 (which is, I guess, a true 140) :whistle:

I've wound out a CBX to 135mph and I can tell you , you wouldn't want to let go of the handlebar at that speed on a 700 lb bike let alone take your eyes off of the road, so I can't imagine what digit this guy snapped the picture with. :blush:

You do know that it's a 5 speed transmission, right? Maybe check your clutch adjustment or plates, especially the steels. Old ones get hot and are hard to grab if they warp. Check them on a flat block or a piece of plate glass. Even a few thou out can leave oil between the plates and cause slip and slop.
A dirty clutch basket can do the same by not allowing the plates to mate up properly. Same for a worn hub bearing or pressure plate or spring(s).
The answer is always inside.
