I'm glad you made some progress with the cleaning and adjustments.

I can't help you with the rest. I'm soon to be in the same boat. I've never used vacuum gauges before, let alone on a six. I'm about to borrow a set and do mine. I'm trying to find two sets....

I would assume do 1-4 together, then do 3-6 together, then 1-2/5-6 to dial it all in. Maybe someone else can chime in with this.

Another member has commented on my thread in carbs with my problem and brought up something I was wondering but didn't ask. There is only one balance screw for each pair of carbs so he says only 3 gauges are needed. I'm trying to figure how that jives with the pair of ports on each intake which makes a total of six. Do we ignore the extras? I'm lost lol.

From Hillsy

The manual says to take readings from the two ports on each carb and get an "average" vacuum measurement to use as the balance reference.

In practice, you should measure the two ports on each carb to see if there is a big difference (this could indicate an air leak, bent butterfly valve, etc), but if they are close then you only really need to use one of the ports to balance the 3 carb "pairs".

I bought a set of six gauges but realised that I only need three, as you can see number 1 and 2 (left gauge ) is out which I managed to bring in line.

Great that you got them. Did they come with the tips for the hoses to screw into the intake? I only have 2.

How did it work out for you? Did you run it for a while? Any improvement?
