:) Many many years ago I use to have a "proper" shim tool, not the lever to remove to shim but the weird shaped tool that holds the bucket down while you change the shim, not one of these cheap and nasty pieces of punched out steel they sell, just wondering if anyone has a spare good one, or perhaps knows where I can buy one ? I lost mine somewhere during a house move ages ago, thanks Pete.

Thanks mate, not sure about the e-bay link, didn't show anything, I may of put the wrong subject down for this question, what I want is a "special tool", perhaps I should of put down a "valve lifter holder", I use to use it to change the shims, great tool, I copied a mates one, case hardened it and blued it, it was a work of art, easier to use than the press steel one you buy today, it just sat nicely on the side of the bucket and held there without the danger of the bl**dy thing rolling, slipping or popping out, i'll see if I can attach some diagrams from the manual, heck if someone has one and can do some measurements i'll try and make another one for myself, cheers Pete.

not this thing

This tool

From manual

it's almost the same as the cheap one just thicker and better made, I think the part number is 57001-1153 , but not 100% sure on that
