Not selling one, but a bit of a public service announcement- If you install one of these and let the bike set for a bit, it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get it started again. It's..... hard.

(I have a fuel solenoid of my own, but I'm probably going to pull the plunger out of it. I want to keep it for the looks, but unless you ride this bike once a day, it makes starting the bike VERY hard.)

From what I gather, there is no way to "prime" the carbs without draining the battery (either from cranking the engine or the headlight draining it- at least, draining MY battery). That's not getting into the touchy nature of the solenoid itself, which has been known to fail at the worst possible time.

Long story short- unless you're going for 100% restoration accuracy (which I don't think you are), you really are better off without it.

Im just worried about forgetting to turn my fuel valve off everytime I stop and park the bike.

Fair enough. In that case, I hope for you the best.

In my opinion though, trying to make a habit of turning off the petcock whenever you stop is a much better, easier, and cheaper way of keeping your bike in good shape.

(If you forget, it's not like all is lost- the float valves should do a decent job of stopping any excess fuel leaking in if you happen for forget during a stop for lunch or something. And when you park it at home, you can check and re-check to be sure the petcock is in the "off" position. Like a said, it's a good habit to start training yourself on.)

Besides, it's not like you're going to ruin your bike if you forget about it either. I had a GL1200 that I left the petcock on all winter long. It took about two years to leak past one of the float valves. With a bit of diligence, you'll probably be better off.

Put on a vacuum petcock, I did, there's a thread here somewhere about what type bolts straight on, and with that one it has a prime circuit and the on and reserve positions are vacuum controlled, cheers
after tuesday even the calendar goes WTF

All first class advice above on why NOT to fit the K solenoid..........bad idea !

They are crap.

See this one on Ebay below. I have fitted many of these and can confirm they are spot on and do the job properly that the K one is MEANT to do !
