I use run /turn lights on the rear and replaced all bulbs to led and went from 12.7 charging to 13.6.charging. Hopefully when I put the heavy duty stator on that will bump up a little.

You'll want to rethink the nylon wire tie wraps. the reason the resistor are made with a ceramic shell is because the resistor itself turns into an element and will glow cherry hot. Then the tie wraps will melt and then you've got an ignition hazard floating around underneath a fuel tank and then, well, we probably won't hear from you again.

Equipment list to carry out this upgrade.
3 x Good AW82 Coils. Should be tested & show around 2.4 ohms.
6 Feet of good quality copper core 7mm wide HT (high tension) Lead.
6 x FEMALE spade terminals (crimp are fine but solder even better!).
2 Feet of yellow electrical wire 10 amp minimum.
1 x Foot of each GREEN & BLACK & BLUE electrical wire 10 amp minimum.
3 x Bullet connectors to extend each colour wire above to reach the AW82 coils.

Do HT leads have to made from copper core? I'm having trouble sourcing copper core.

Lots of suppliers on EBay. shouldn't be that hard to find. Solid core wire for sure since it needs to screw into the coils. Copper has less resistance than the steel wire, but the leads are short enough that steel core wire would be fine if stuck and can't find copper.

Thanks Kawboy. I managed to get the bike started yesterday and found that the existing HT leads were a bit dodgy. I am very anxious to see if I can get the old girl going properly. I'm a bit like a kid in a lolly shop and didn't want to wait for some order to arrive off ebay :silly:
