Cleaning out my filing cabinet I came across these old papers of what I went through trying to get a problem resolved (with help from my dad)finally fixed it by taking the breather out of the crankcase and just running it up to the taillight area with an inline fuel filter in the hose (and I did figure it out)

That is very interesting indeed. Because the oil consumption of these engines has been a major problem for many owners.
So, just understanding this then- the crankcase breather hose that originally ran into the bottom of the airbox was just re-routed and extended to the rear of the bike. So how did doing that change anything ?. That would be a very simple fix.

Thanks

I figured that the way I liked to ride the at that time of my life (loved the sound of the DG header) that it was causing to much low pressure in the air box all of a sudden drawing some oil vapor into the intake stream. All I know is after I did not and not changing my riding style I stopped using oil.
