I am looking for a stable potential solution to get rid of the large original airfilter.

I know that turbulence becomes a problem with the standard carburettors and funnels, and I also know that I am probably better off with the original air filter in the long run, but is there a good stable solution that some of you have experience with.

I've looked everywhere online for pod filter but can not find any ..

To be honest, there is nothing wrong with the air filter in a stock 1300.
The problem is the air box it lives in. It restricts the flow of air to the filter in a massive way, which is why most 1300's run RICH.
The 3 carbs are all trying to breath thru a tiny funnel behind the side panel.
Its like you having 3 pairs of lungs & trying to breath through a straw whilst running as fast as you can !!!

I have carried out the following mod on many 1300's which makes a big difference but retains the original filter.

1). Remove top part of air box from main lower section under the seat .
2). Cut off funnel / neck so it is flush with the rear of the box itself.
3). On the back flat side of the top air box, drill 9 x 13mm holes in a square formation (3x3).
4). Glue or silicon a piece of mesh INSIDE the top air box to stop insects crawling in or being sucked in.
5). Turn your air mixture screws OUT another 1/4 turn (to make up for extra air intake)
6). Ride your bike.

You should find it pulls better & starts better due to being able to breathe better.

I will keep that in mind, and I might end there.., if I can't find a solution on whar I'm looking for..

What I want to do is get rid of the side panels and moving all the electrics up in the back of the old woman.. Like in the style of Caferacers, even though I don't want to make it like a caferacer.. More like a classic racer style, with a thinner fueltank, but with the original seat and rear end.. Might sound crazy to the most of you..

I'm looking for pod filters or another solution that are stable where I can get rid of the big airfilter box..

I bought a spare original airbox, and cut a hole in either side and one in the flat section carby side and put mesh over the holes, so it breathes better, the side covers cover the mesh, and it all fits, make do but it worked
