Hello all,
I have been trying to find a float level tool for my A4 ( brass screw in adapter with clear hose ). Have been looking on ebay and other 1300 part sites with no success. Can anyone assist with a parts place that does have them , or has anyone made a home made one that could pass on a how to.

The tool # is 57001-208 I have seen them sell for ten bucks on ebay. Z1 Ent has one but there not cheap.www.z1enterprises.com/ItemDetails.aspx?item=57001-208

Or you can just make one yourself actually.

The carb drain bolt thread is a very fine M6 (0.75) and you can buy bolts of this size.
I bought some years ago & cut the head off one & drilled a 3mm hole through the centre, then pushed some clear plastic pipe on one end.........& your done !
Works as well as any other.

I found some of the plastic "nipples" you use to balance the carbys fits also, also used a plastic "nipple" I had to inflate footballs and the like screwed in, anything will do so long as it doesn't leak, and then a bit of clear hose, make do, heck anything will work and everything is cheaper than genuine 1300 parts :-)
after tuesday even the calendar goes WTF

Hey guys,
Just finished making a home made float level gauge. I found a long reach grease nipple that I happened to have in my tool box (knew it would come in handy one day ). Cut the appropriate thread on the end, drilled the ball and spring out.......and here it is.
All I have to do now is get some clear plastic tube an hey presto.......all done.

Best thing of all, it has cost me nothing. Even better. Thanks guys for pointing me in the right direction. That's what I love about sites like this
