For those who wish to change out their throttle shaft seals you'll find that they are no longer available from Kawasaki UNLESS through a little research I found that the Mikuni BS34 carbs on the Yamaha XS650 use the same seal. I just picked up 6 seals from the Yamaha dealer @ $5.95 Canadian and they're the right ones.

The seal on the right is the new one sitting beside 3 of the old ones removed from my 1980 carbs. It may be hard to tell from the pic but the 3 on the left are smaller in all dimensions and the groove between the outer and inner lips have really shrunk. I'm just tickled to have found them and got them installed today.

Thanks KawBoy!

I'll add that tidbit to the FAQ.
