New to the KZ1300.COM, I've owned 6 kawasaki, but always wanted a kz1300, and had a buddy that was showing all his bike that he owned, and in the back corner was a kz1300 touring bike, I look at him a said that's not 1300, he said yes, his brother found it up in michigan, about three years ago, they tried to get it running but no luck, to make a long story short, he finally sold it to me, I was like a kid at a toy store, it's rough, but I like a good project, pick it up this past sunday and got it running today, sound real good, it didn't over heat, the fan kick on, did a compression test on all six cylinder, very good, clean the carb's, replace the starter solenoid, didn't get any keys with the bike, bypass the seat lock, somebody cut the ignition wires off the switch, had to hot wire it to start it, found the key code and got on ebay, there's a guy cutting keys for $10.00, going to order a ignition and seat lock set off ebay, can't get in to the tank, to clean it out yet, until my key get's here this week, waiting a new battery to come in from apex, best places to buy battery from, well going to download a video and pics as I go with this project.

Has any body tried changing a touring wire harness to a sport wire harness, my touring wire harness was cut up pretty bad, but I still got my 1982 running, I found a 1979 wire harness on ebay, got it in today, a lot less wires, I notice the left controls harness on the handle bar are a little different, the fuse box plug is a little different, but I found a fuse box that has the right plug for my new wire harness, I think I can make it work.
