Yeh it looks like a nice reproduction, Kawasaki on the rear, pretty sure the "checkering"(wonder if that is a word?), didn't go over the side, just a pattern on the top on the original ???

See my current engine below.........no reed valves.

And yet on my UK-spec '84 ZG the castings are there for them, but they're blanked-off; go figure  (ignore the red arrow in the pic)

Phil,

With the original Carb models there were many different cam covers for different markets.

By the time they got to the ZG (Injection) model K had decided to use one cover for every market & because of the addition of injection, the countries who demanded the recirculation system no longer needed it as it was only applicable to carbs.

Guess I need to solve what my thought was:

I can see on his pics the seat has a Kawasaki-lettering on the back. According to waht I know the A1 did have a seat without the lettering, rather than that there is a seam in the place on the back.

Can you guys confirm ? Is it just valid for the EU-models or also for the US-ones ?

regards,

Holger

No seat comes with lettering on the back. Thats why all the lettering on the sides are so bold. Once you pass something they not going to have time to read the back of the seat.
